How to set up a fortnightly or monthly recurring booking

Not every regular client walks weekly. A loop in PawLoop can repeat every week, every 2 weeks, or every month, and monthly loops can follow either a fixed date or a pattern such as the first Monday. Everything else about the loop works the same way, so you set the client, pets, service, time and price once and PawLoop books the walks for you.

Open a new or existing loop

Go to Schedules in the sidebar and start a new loop, or open an existing one to change how often it repeats. You can also book a walk on the calendar first and choose Make recurring, which carries across the client, pets, time and price.

Choose the repeat frequency

In the Repeats section, pick one of the three options. Each one tells you in plain English what it will do.

  • Every week: the days you tick, every single week.
  • Every 2 weeks: the days you tick, every other week.
  • Every month: once a month, on a date or weekday you pick.

Set up an every 2 weeks loop

Tick the days of the week the loop runs on, exactly as you would for a weekly loop. Then set First walk. That date is the anchor: PawLoop counts every other week from it, so the walks land on the same alternating weeks the client expects.

If a client wants two different alternating patterns, for example Mondays one week and Thursdays the next, set up two fortnightly loops with First walk dates a week apart rather than trying to squeeze it into one.

Set up a monthly loop on a date

Choose Every month, then leave the Monthly pattern on the day of the month option. Pick the Day of the month, for example 15, and the loop books once each month on that date.

If you pick a day after the 28th, shorter months use their last day instead, so nothing is silently skipped in February.

Set up a monthly loop on a weekday pattern

Switch the Monthly pattern to the weekday option when the client wants something like the first Monday or the last Friday of each month. Pick the Week of the month, first, second, third, fourth or last, then tick which day it falls on.

The summary line updates as you go, so you can read back the pattern before you save.

Finish the loop and save

Set the start time, duration, price per walk and the team member covering it, exactly as you would for a weekly loop. Leave the end date blank to run indefinitely, or set one for a fixed period.

Save the loop. PawLoop immediately projects the walks onto the calendar, spaced according to the pattern you chose.

Check how far ahead it books

Loops are generated on a rolling window, 12 weeks ahead by default, and PawLoop keeps topping it up as time passes. You can change the window in Settings under Business if you want to see further ahead.

This matters more for monthly loops than weekly ones. A 12 week window shows roughly the next three monthly visits, so extend it if you plan your diary further out than that.
