How to create a boarding booking

Boarding stays are managed separately from walks. The Boarding page opens on an overview of what needs attention — who's in the house, arriving and leaving today, outstanding care tasks and unpaid stays — with a monthly calendar below it for booking. Before your first booking, set up at least one boarding type with pricing — see the guide on configuring boarding prices.

Open Boarding

Go to Boarding in the sidebar. Below the overview lists you'll see the month view with every stay as a bar spanning its dates.

Click Book a stay

Click Book a stay in the top right, or click the + on any day in the calendar to start a booking with that date pre-filled.

Choose the client and pets

Select the client, then pick by client or by pet which of their dogs are staying.

Set the boarding type, dates and times

Choose the boarding type (for example Overnight boarding or Day care), then set the start date, end date, drop-off time and pick-up time.

Check the price

PawLoop works out the length of the stay from drop-off to pick-up and calculates the price from the boarding type's hourly rates automatically, including any extra-pet rate and daily price cap. You can still type a different price if you need to override it.

Save the stay

Click Save. The stay appears as a bar across its dates on the Boarding calendar, and also shows up on the main Calendar for the days it covers.

Mark payment as received

When the client settles up, open the stay and choose Mark paid on the stay page — or let it flow into your next invoice. Unpaid stays are flagged on the boarding overview with the total outstanding.
