How to turn on booking requests for your clients
Booking requests let your clients ask for extra work in one place instead of texting, emailing and catching you at the door. A request is never a booking, so nothing reaches your calendar until you accept it. It is switched off until you turn it on.
Open your portal configuration
Go to Settings, choose the Clients tab, then the Portal configuration sub-tab. Scroll to the Booking requests section.
Switch requests on
Tick "Accept booking requests from clients". A Requests tab then appears in the client portal, and a Requests page appears under Schedule on your side.
Choose what clients can request
Once requests are on you can choose walks and services, boarding stays, or both. The boarding option only appears if you have boarding switched on.
Set your notice window
Minimum notice is how many hours ahead a client must ask, 24 by default. Maximum advance is how far ahead they can ask, 90 days by default. Clients cannot pick a date outside that window.
- Raise the minimum notice if last-minute asks disrupt your route.
- Lower the maximum advance if you plan your diary only a few weeks out.
Tick the services clients can request
Under "Services clients can request", tick only the services you are happy to take requests for. Anything you leave unticked never appears in the client form, which is useful for group walks that are already full or services you only offer to certain clients.
Save and check it as a client
Click "Save portal settings". Then use "Log in as" on the Client access sub-tab to open a client's portal and confirm the Requests tab and form look right.
