How to use the search on your dashboard

The search box sits on your dashboard, under the four summary widgets. Type at least a couple of letters and results appear as you go, grouped by what they are.

You only see what your role allows. If you cannot see money, invoices will not appear in your results.

• Clients, by name, email or phone
• Pets, shown with their owner
• Bookings from today onwards
• Boarding stays from today onwards
• Recurring loops
• Invoices, including by invoice number
• Guides, so help comes back in the same place

If a name brings back too much, add a word that says what you are after. The word is used to narrow, not to search, so the rest of what you typed still does the finding.

• megz booking. Only bookings for Megz
• megz loop. Only her recurring loops. Recurring, repeat and schedule work too
• smith invoice. Only invoices for the Smith family. Bill also works
• bella pet. Only pets called Bella. Dog works the same way
• john client. Only the client record. Customer also works
• ruby boarding. Only boarding stays. Stay works too
• deposit guide. Only help guides about deposits

Add a month, a year or a plain date word and results outside that period drop away. A small line above the results tells you what the search has been narrowed to.

• megz booking october. Bookings for Megz in October
• boarding december 2026. Stays in a named year
• bella today, bella tomorrow or bella yesterday
• walks this week, next week or last week
• invoices this month, next month or last month
• booking 12/10 or booking 2026-10-12 for one exact day

Status words work on invoices and on recurring loops, so you can jump straight to the thing that needs attention.

• smith invoice unpaid, or overdue, paid, draft, sent, void
• megz loop paused, or active, ended
• invoice overdue october. Status and period together

Type hints, dates and statuses can all be mixed in one go, in any order. Everything left over is treated as the name you are looking for.

• megz booking october. Her bookings in October
• smith invoice unpaid 2026. Unpaid Smith invoices this year
• bella boarding next month
• chris loop paused
• INV-1042. An invoice number on its own is enough

Every result opens the thing itself. Clients, pets, boarding stays and invoices open their own page.

Booking results open your calendar on that date with the client, and their pet where there is only one, already filtered. Clear the filter chips above the calendar when you want the full day back.
