Vaccination & Compliance for UK dog walkers

Your requirements, your rules — checked automatically.

Every dog walking and boarding business has a slightly different idea of what needs to be on file before a dog is in their care. Some want core vaccination and nothing else; a licensed home boarder might want kennel cough, worming, flea treatment, a microchip number and proof of insurance too. PawLoop doesn't force one list on you — you build your own, decide which items are simply recorded and which are genuinely required, and the app tracks every record with its expiry date from there. Statuses update themselves, boarding stays are checked against the dates they actually run, and one overview shows you every pet that needs chasing.

Why it matters

What Vaccination & Compliance does for your business

  • You set the requirements

Core vaccination, leptospirosis, kennel cough, worming, flea treatment, microchip, insurance — tick which ones you check, mark which are required, add your own and remove anything you don't need.

  • Records kept in full

Adding a new record never overwrites the old one. Each entry keeps the date given, the expiry or next-due date, the vet or provider and any evidence you attach.

  • Statuses you can read at a glance

Every requirement shows as Valid, Due soon, Expired or No record on the pet's Vaccination & compliance tab, so you know exactly where each dog stands.

  • Checked against boarding stays

A stay shows a compliance panel checked against the actual stay dates — so a jab expiring mid-stay is flagged before the dog arrives. It's a warning, never a block.

  • One overview across every pet

Filter all pets by Compliant, Due soon, Expired, Missing or Upcoming stays, search by pet or client, and see the next issue for each one in a single list.

  • Optional — switch it off if you don't need it

Vaccinations & compliance is a feature toggle in your business settings. Turn it on when your setup calls for it, and the whole thing stays out of the way when it doesn't.

Flexible requirements — you decide what matters

In Settings → Business → Compliance you build the list your business actually needs. PawLoop starts you off with the usual suspects — core vaccination, leptospirosis, kennel cough, worming treatment, flea treatment, microchip recorded and insurance — and each one has two independent switches: Checked, meaning PawLoop tracks it, and Required, meaning a pet isn't considered compliant without it. Add your own requirements, remove the ones that don't apply, and change your mind whenever your setup changes. A walking-only business can run a two-item list; a licensed boarder can run everything.

A full history, never overwritten

Each record captures the date given, the expiry or next-due date, the vet or provider and any evidence you want to attach. Adding a new record for the same requirement never overwrites the old one — the previous entry stays on file, so you keep a complete history for each pet rather than a single row that gets edited over the years. That matters the day someone asks you to prove when a booster was actually given.

Statuses that tell you what to do

Every requirement resolves to one of four states: Valid, Due soon, Expired or No record. The pet's Vaccination & compliance tab shows all of them together with an Incomplete or Complete badge for the pet as a whole, so a quick look tells you whether anything needs chasing before the next booking.

Boarding stays checked against their dates

When compliance is on, every boarding stay carries a compliance panel that checks the pet against your requirements using the stay's own dates — not just today. A vaccination that lapses halfway through a five-night stay is flagged before the dog arrives. Crucially, it's advisory: PawLoop tells you clearly that requirements aren't met, and still lets you save the stay, because you know your clients better than a piece of software does.

One overview for the whole business

The Compliance page lists every pet with their next issue and any upcoming stay, and filters down to Compliant, Due soon, Expired, Missing or Upcoming stays. Search by pet or client name, spot the dogs boarding next month with expired paperwork, and work through the list in one sitting instead of opening profiles one by one.

Entirely optional

Vaccinations & compliance is a business feature toggle. Leave it off and the pet tabs, overview page, settings and boarding checks disappear completely — nothing is deleted, it's just out of your way. Turn it on later and everything comes back exactly as you left it. If you run boarding without it, PawLoop gently suggests it, once, and then leaves you alone.
